An overview of Legacy Dell Multimedia USB Keyboards

Multi-media keyboards are awesome input devices that enhance our digital life. Dell legacy keyboards offer high quality at a dirt cheap price for heavy users. Users include gamers, programmers, production, and media enthusiasts.

I have sold well over 1,000 used keyboards on eBay to happy customers. Keyboard brands mainly Dell but HP, IBM, and Microsoft. I have purchased thousands of dell keyboards at various auctions including Consumer's Energy surplus liquidation auctions and GovDeals.

This post will showcase 3 legacy Dell models and there respective features and some of my most popular keyboards that I have sold/used. Although these keyboards may be sort of dated as of 2023 they still are very useful. Additionally they are great even previously used as I have sold them used to thousands of happy customers.

Dell 01RW52

The Dell 01RW52, also known as KB522 has been one of my most popular keyboard models that I have sold over the years. This keyboard is of decent quality but is of the least weight of the 3 keyboards. It has slots for a palm rest and multi media functionality. It has a nice knob for the volume and buttons for mute, play/pause and stop.

Dell 0U473D

The Dell 0U473D is also a nice multimedia USB keyboard but it is slightly heavier duty and is on average a bit more pricey than the 01RW52. These keyboards were/are also quite popular amongst eBay customers. In-fact I have sold several dozens over the years. These keyboards may be more suitable to a programmer or a heavy typer. I am typing this on one now and have a high WPM. The particular keyboard I am on right now has been in use since pre - COVID. Still works fantastic, no need to replace.

The Y-U0003 also has slots for a palm rest but it's palm rest is smaller than the one for the 01RW52. Typically I did not find as many palm rests, maybe a 3rd of the 01RW52's.

Dell 06W610

This keyboard is the oldest and the heaviest of all 3 multimedia keyboards. Although these are still available on eBay there is only a tiny fraction available compared to the others and they are starting out at $20.00 used! This keyboard like the others has 2 USB ports hub and typical multimedia functionality. It too has slots for a palm rest.

The SK-8125 is quite similar to and predecessor of the SK-8135 in terms of weight and heavy duty-ness.
